Jobs Could Be Cut At Global Radio

Global Radio has confirmed that it could cut up to 30 jobs in a “prudent reaction to the current economic climate”.

Cuts are expected to be made across programming, human resources, technology and among journalists across LBC, Galaxy and Heart, according to a report on MediaGuardian.co.uk.

Sources are reported as claiming that cuts will see LBC’s rolling AM news channel LBC News 1152 become mostly automated rather than using live presenters.

A Global Radio spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that a number of employees at Global Radio across the UK are entering into the redundancy consultation process.

“Richard Park, the acting chief executive of Global Radio, has decided to take this action as a prudent reaction to the current economic climate.”
